Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Last updated: 4 July 2026
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how RKR Networks (“RKR”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data collected through the RKR Internships platform at internship.rkr-networks.com and related services. It applies to prospective and enrolled interns, university coordinators, and visitors to the site. We act as the Data Fiduciary for this personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”).
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the internship program:
- Application & identity data — your name, email, phone number, college, branch, year of study and the courses you have completed.
- Program data — your enrolment, cohort, track, lab activity, deliverables, assessments, attendance and certificate records.
- Account & technical data — login credentials (stored hashed), device and browser information, IP address and essential cookies used to keep you signed in and to secure the platform.
- Communications — messages you send us by email or through the platform, and mentorship or support interactions.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data that the program does not require.
3. How and why we use it
We process your personal data for these specified, lawful purposes:
- To review your application and match you to a suitable internship track and format.
- To deliver the program — lab access, mentorship, assessment, grading and certificates.
- To share progress, grades and attendance with your university coordinator where you enrol through a campus partnership, for the purpose of internship-credit records.
- To secure the platform, prevent misuse and comply with legal obligations.
- To send you program-related communications, and — only with your consent — occasional updates about new tracks, cohorts or hiring opportunities.
We rely on your consent, and on the necessity of processing to provide a service you have requested, as our legal bases under the DPDP Act.
5. Data retention
We keep your personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Application data for unsuccessful or withdrawn applicants is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period. Enrolment, assessment and certificate records are retained for as long as needed to support verification of your certificate and to meet legal and academic obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
6. How we protect your data
We apply reasonable security safeguards appropriate to the risk — encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access controls, and least-privilege access for staff and mentors. No system is perfectly secure, but in the event of a personal data breach that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by the DPDP Act.
7. Your rights
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it.
- Request correction, completion or updating of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request erasure of your data where it is no longer necessary or consent is withdrawn.
- Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing already carried out).
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
- Grievance redressal — raise a concern and have it addressed within a reasonable time.
To exercise any of these rights, email internships@rkr-networks.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Minors
The program is intended for college students and adults. Where a user is under 18, the DPDP Act requires verifiable parental or guardian consent, and we will not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children. If you believe a minor has provided data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will address it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the program or the law evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
11. Contact us
For any privacy question, request or grievance, contact our grievance officer at internships@rkr-networks.com. RKR Networks is based in Bengaluru, India.
